I was 12 years old on this date Cliff, living in Old Bridge, NJ not an hours drive from the show, but instead I was likely playing Little League baseball and listening to my Who and Beatles records, still not quite sure about that whole DeadHead scene.

I was 11 years old living in Old Bridge in 1978 also. I wish I was old enough to see a show with Keith but didn't get to first show until 1983 MSG. Cliff,Giants stadium 78 might not have been the best show of 1978 but to be a great Scarlet-Fire like that?? I wish I was at any 77-78 show except when Jerry had laryngitis.

I don't really remember well but the High School near by I think was called Madison High. I moved when I was 12 to another part of NJ.

You are right. For some reason, I didnt listen to 9/2/78 for the first time untill a couple years ago. I agree the second set has some fine moments. Still, I'm always drawn to the early years. Like a moth to a flame...

Small world. I lived in Old Bridge NJ until the middle of second grade – December 1965. Moved further north to Maplewood, where I stayed through hs.

Went to Jonas Salk Middle School and played Pop Warner For The Sayrewoods South Rebels - Take That Undefeated Season - Beat Manalapan As I Recall.
Would have gone to Madison as well, but we moved to East Brunswick in the nick of time - just down Rt 18...

Im from Milltown

PS - my kids played for the OB Rams and we beat the Rebels
